I have been selected to read for a BSc Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering at the University of Moratuwa — a field I chose because it turns ideas into structures that serve people for generations.
My interests sit in structural design, sustainable construction, and the built environment. Alongside that, I stay closely engaged with technology: CAD and BIM modelling, Python for engineering computation, automation and sensing, and AI-assisted design workflows that make modern civil practice faster and smarter.
My leadership journey began early as a junior prefect and Grade 5 Scholarship achiever at Siddhartha College, Weligama. I further honed my analytical skills at St. Thomas' College, Matara, representing the school in the Mathematics Olympiad and Science Day competitions.
Today, I combine a strong foundation in mathematics and science with a genuine curiosity for technology — aiming to build infrastructure that is both structurally sound and digitally intelligent.
I am a Student Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) — staying connected to the global profession and its latest standards.
Beyond academics, I volunteered as a Publicity Committee Member for Moraforesight 4.0 — the largest event organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa — driving promotion and engagement for a flagship initiative.
Sri Lanka's first dedicated online mentorship platform — connecting A/L, O/L and undergraduate students with verified mentors for guided, one-to-one learning.
A fully articulated robotic arm designed, cut, wired and programmed from scratch — servo-driven joints controlled by an Arduino.
Using AutoCAD and Fusion 360 for precise structural modelling, drafting, and design detailing of civil and mechanical assemblies.

Moraforesight 4.0 is the flagship event of the IEEE Student Branch at the University of Moratuwa — the largest of its kind on campus, guiding hundreds of students through their choice of engineering discipline and career path.
As part of the Publicity Committee, I helped shape how the event reached its audience: planning promotional campaigns, coordinating digital and print publicity with the design and media teams, and working alongside a large organizing crew through long build-up days and the event itself. It sharpened the skills engineering projects actually run on — teamwork, clear communication, deadlines that do not move, and ownership of a task from idea to delivery.
